2019-20 Noble League Student Leadership Council Announced
Noble League announces the introduction of the Noble League Student Council - a council created to provide Noble's student athletes with the opportunity to gain leadership and interpersonal skills to further their development as students, athletes, and future leaders.
The inaugural Noble League Student Leadership Council (SLC) has been announced. The SLC, composed of 30 student athletes from 16 campuses, was created to provide Noble's student athletes with the opportunity to gain leadership and interpersonal skills to further their development as students, athletes, and future leaders. The council also will provide Noble League administrators with insight on how to better the student athlete experience at Noble, while also serving as Noble League ambassadors.
The council will meet quarterly for discussions, panels such as "Careers in Sports" and "Collegiate Recruiting 101," and team building exercises. They also will have opportunities to take part in other activities, including volunteer work and attending sporting events.
Candidates for the SLC have been chosen from an application pool of more than 60 students from 16 campuses. High school student athletes from all of Noble's 17 campuses were invited to apply for the council, and coaches were encouraged to nominate student athletes. The council consists of a maximum of 2 members per campus, candidates were chosen based on application, nomination or coach reference, and Noble League experience.
"I'm excited that Noble's athletes will gain the opportunity to use their voices to develop leadership skills while helping enhance the Noble League and provide administrators with insight into the student athlete experience. With more than 60 highly qualified candidates, it was extremely challenging to narrow down the final members. Seeing so many passionate Noble athletes want to be involved continues to show how special Noble students are," says Anna Brune, Noble League Marketing & Events Manager and founder of the SLC.

The Director of Health, Fitness, and Athletics for Noble Schools, Jason Ronai supports the SLC, saying "the Noble League Student Leadership Council is simply about empowering Chicago kids who have great passion for sport and competition. We believe the SLC will be a powerful mechanism for student connectedness and significance, both of which are vital to the educational process. The SLC members will provide valuable input, have fun, build student community outside of their own campus, learn from sports professionals, and development leadership skills. Their input will help us continue to drive the Noble League to new heights on behalf of Noble's 13,000 students."
